1886 Keyless Lock Post Office Door Bank # 112. This Post Office Door Bank uses a "Rolled Brass" door that was one of the first metal doors used by the Post Office and was made circa 1886. It has the original beveled glass window and number. The door is mounted in a box constructed from "Beetle Pine", which is ern White Pine that has been attacked and killed by the ern Pine Bark Beetle. The Beetle leave a distinctive random grey streak in the wood. The box is cut so the grain wraps around the outside of the box in a "Waterfall" pattern. It is finished with two coats of traditional Shellac. There is a coin slot in the top, and protective felt pads on the bottom. The lock is fully functional.We also provide a "Lost Combination" service. Just send us an e-mail with the number from the bottom of the bank and we will supply the combination.
